Hit: When the player asks for another card

Stand: The player does not want any more cards. This is automatic when the player has 21.

Split: I the player is dealt 2 of the same card (i.e. 4, 4) the player can “split them into 2 separate hands but must place a second bet equal to the first. The Player can have up to 3 hands at one time. The Player will then play each hand as the normally would.

**Note** If a Player splits two aces, only one additional card is dealt for each hand. A hand totaling 21 after splitting aces is considered 21, not Blackjack.

Double Down: After the first 2 cards are dealt, the player has the option of doubling down. This action is when the player doubles his bet in the hope that the card dealt will beat the dealer’s hand. After the card is dealt, the player automatically stands.

Blackjack: When the first two cards dealt equal 21. Any more than two cards totaling is not a blackjack, it is simply a 21.

Bust: A hand that exceeds a value of 21. This is an automatic loss for the one that busts.

Push: When the dealer and the player have the same total (between 17 and 21). The player gets his bet back in this instance.

Surrender: When a player gives up his cards after the first 2 are dealt. The player will get half his bet back.

Insurance: A way of a player betting to protect himself in case the dealer has a blackjack. The dealer offers this when he shows and Ace. If the dealer gets blackjack, the player gets 2 to 1 on the insurance, if not, he loses the insurance.
